When I was 13 years old my father and mother bought me a acoustic guitar for Christmas. My mother loved Elvis Presley and my father loved country music such as Patsy Cline Hank Williams and all kinds of outlaw country. Which through the years became a big influence to me of the music he played I remember sitting on the floor playing in the summertime listen to my father playing sun studio records such as Jerry Lee Lewis,BB King,Johnny Cash and others on the the the record player Ever since then I've been inspired in this kind of music and this would became my biggest influences in what I do today. As far as songwriting goes that came to me through the years of writing about different events in my life some true and some making fictional stories up as well becoming a storyteller. To this day there influences are in my bloodstream, and I continue to do what I do best at writing.
One of the new songs on the new CD is called forget-me-not and is a tribute to my parents How they influence me through the years.
Every song idea starts with one guitar in my case
A acoustic guitar whether you add a band later or not the song if it's good we'll stand on its own.
I feel that all my songs one way or another stand on their own and the many styles and versions of performing them.
My biggest influences of all time as a songwriter are Bob Dylan and as a performer Elvis Presley when you merge them two together that is what influences me more than anything in the songs I write and create.
